A Night at the Theatre

The Phi Sigma Sigma Northern Virginia Alumnae chapter is pleased to be a member of the Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association (NVAPA) and to once again support their fundraising efforts by offering tickets to the Little Theatre of Alexandria's production of Proof on Tuesday, March 11 at 8:00PM.

Each year NVAPA sponsors a play at The Little Theatre with all proceeds going to the NVAPA scholarship fund.  This fund awards two scholarships every year, one to a panhellenic undergraduate woman attending college in Virginia and the second to a Panhellenic woman attending graduate school in Virginia.  Scholarship amounts are approximately $1,500 each.

Tickets for the play cost $25 each.  The ticket includes a pre-play reception beginning at 7:15PM with food and drink, the play which begins promptly at 8PM and an intermission reception.

Tickets are available to Phi Sigma Sigma alumnae as well as their family, friends, and guests.  If you are interested in purchasing tickets please contact Dotti Shields at dottishields@gmail.com with the number of tickets you would like to purchase and payment information.

Proof: Winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Proof explores the link between love and the mysteries of science.  The drama focuses on Catherine, a young woman who spent years caring for her mentally-ill but brilliant mathematician father.  After his death, Catherine is forced to examine her choices and explore her own mathematical brilliance.  Are the mathematical proofs in her future?  Or will the same mental illness that plagued her father prevent Catherine from proving her abilities as well?
